Mission

Keystone development partnership is dedicated to develop or enhance labor/ management partnerships by engaging working men and women and their employers in creating work force development solutions by accessing the resources needed to ensure sustainable economic growth for the commonwealth of pennsylvania.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Kdp serves as a project partner in the new apprenticeship for making it in america funded by a three year grant from the eta's workforce innovation fund. Kdp devotes resources to help achieve the project outcomes. Kdp is contracted by strategic development solutions, llc for participation in the design team, assessments, curriculum development and supply chain management for the project. Design team: kdp participated in design team meetings to develop the infrastructure of the new app project.assessments: kdp developed an assessment tool to survey manufacturing startups and companies interested in contract manufacturing to identify their business needs and use those results to guide the design of the new app strategies to increase manufacturing in pennsylvania. Kdp will survey 20 startups and 10 mature companies to identify training needs. Kdp developed an assessment tool to survey 200 dislocated workers as part of the recruitment for new app training programs.supply chain management: kdp partners with new app project leaders to connect with manufacturing associations and other networks, government agencies, and education institutions along with related labor organizations to identify contract manufacturers to meet the supply chain needs of start-ups.
Activity 3
Kdp manages the northeast pennsylvania advanced materials / diversified manufacturing partnership (nepa advanced materials ip), which is a regional consortium of the pocono counties, lacawanna county, luzerne / schuylkill and northern tier workforce investment boards (wibs) that subsidized training for 69 employers. The nepa advance materials ip is a mature consortium that brings together the region's manufacturing companies, local wibs, local pa careerlinks, training providers, industry associations, and unions to promote the competitiveness of the affiliated employers, the retention of skilled employees, and the growth of community and family sustaining careers. Its goal is to address the long-term workforce challenges in manufacturing critical to competitiveness, including incumbent worker training, work organizaton / modernization and development of the future workforce. A total of 155 individuals were provided training at an average cost of per participant of $717.
