Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 3

Delegation of control of management duties: the cable center engaged prism financial partners, llc to provide financial management services as cfo (gregg scott). The cable center paid prism financial partners $217,375 for the services provided in 2021.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

Process to review the form 990: the 990 was reviewed by the current ceo, cfo and audit committee members, and then circulated to the board prior to being filed with the irs.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Process for monitoring compliance with conflict of interest policy: the board self-monitors the conflict of interest policy, with board members annually submitting written disclosures of any potential conflicts of interest. Any board members with a conflict of interest recuse themselves from voting on any matters pertaining to the conflict.

FORM 990, PART VI, SECTION B, LINE 15A & 15B

Describe process for determining compensation: the center receives compensation data from an outside human resources firm to assist in reviewing compensation for the senior staff members and the center maintains all the necessary documentation to substantiate all compensation arrangements. The secretary/treasurer reviews and approves the compensation of the ceo and then recommends the ceo's compensation to the executive committee chairman, who also approves the new compensation amount. The ceo recommends compensation for other officers and the executive committee approves this as part of the annual budget.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

Describe how documents are made available to the public: the audited statement of financial position and statement of activities, along with the governing organizational documents, and conflict of interest policy are available upon request.

Purchases of collection items are reported in the year of acquisition as decreases in unrestricted net assets, or in temporarily or permanently restricted net assets if the assets used to purchase the items were restricted to that use by donor stipulation. Contributions of collection items are not reported in the financial statements. Proceeds from disposal of and insurance recoveries related to collection items are reported as increases in the appropriate net asset classes. As of december 31, 2021, the majority of collection items have been acquired by donation.

Schedule D, Part III, Line 4

Some highlights of the collection include: - an mtv video music award moonman - press kits for favorite cable programs - tradeshow premiums ranging from mini sumo wrestlers to bobble head dolls- posters- coffee mugs of every shape and size- t-shirts barco library photograph collection: with more than 100,000 slides, prints, and negatives, the photograph collection at the barco library offers a vivid chronicle of the history of the cable television industry. More than 8000 of our photographs are available to view and purchase through our online searchable database, with more being added continually. The generous donations of individuals, vendors, manufacturers, operators, engineers and industry pioneers have made this remarkably rich and varied collection possible.
