Through our Intrapreneurship Academy's experiential programs, thought leadership, academic partnerships, and symposia, we develop the next generation of industry leaders - the intrapreneurs - to drive measurable value and shape the future. “The center receives compensation data from an outside human resources firm to assist in reviewing compensation for the senior staff members and the center maintains all the necessary documentation to substantiate all compensation arrangements. “The barco library houses the most prominent collection pertaining to the cable industry. Many of the collections contain primary source materials that document the history, innovations and evolution of this entrepreneurial industry including making worldwide connectivity possible during the pandemic. The library and its collections are open to the public at no charge. The advent and growth of the cable industry is a uniquely american success story that paved the way for today's communication mavericks. This slice of americana is preserved and documented in the collections of the barco library. Students, researchers, members of the media, hobbyists and the general public use the resources and rely upon the knowledge of our librarian to provide access to information, artifacts and collections. The accomplishments of the people in the cable industry are significant and have had a profound impact on our society from the invention of hfc networks and the first cable modem, which provided incredible internet access to the world and the informative and often-times, life-changing content provided by cable programmers to the innovative achievements on the technical side. The story of cable is a uniquely american success story that is stewarded almost entirely by the cable center. Barco library media collection: the barco library media collection contains more than 5,000 audiotapes and videotapes in vhs, beta, u-matic and digital formats. The collection consists of a wide variety of material including speeches, lectures and interviews from people involved in the cable industry. It also contains material from information sessions and panels from cable industry conventions, training tapes, advertising and cable network programming. Additional highlights of the collection include: - original cable programming - promotional videos - public service programming documentaries barco library memorabilia collection: the colorful history of the cable telecommunications industry has generated a rich cache of memorabilia - a sometimes quirky collection that may tell as much about the evolution of cable and the individuality of its members as the official histories do. The barco library memorabilia collection is comprised of more than 2,000 items that commemorate people, companies, events and marketing materials produced by the industry. Some highlights of the collection include: - an mtv video music award moonman - press kits for favorite cable programs - tradeshow premiums ranging from mini sumo wrestlers to bobble head dolls - posters - coffee mugs of every shape and size - t-shirts barco library photograph collection: with more than 100,000 slides, prints, and negatives, the photograph collection at the barco library offers a vivid chronicle of the history of the cable television industry. From studio portraits to set photography, action shots to technical photography, chances are if it relates to the cable industry, you'll find an image of it here. Donated by individuals, cable associations, companies and cable industry trade publications, the most robust portion of the collection is from the period of the 1960s to the 1990s. More than 8000 of our photographs are available to view and purchase through our online searchable database, with more being added continually. The generous donations of individuals, vendors, manufacturers, operators, engineers and industry pioneers have made this remarkably rich and varied collection possible.”
