Mission

Believing that the best hope for peace and happiness for mankind lies in education, we are dedicated to assisting refugees or displaced persons of any race,nationality, or creed to acquire an education. The focus is on refugees from Burma in Thailand, India,and Bangladesh.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Programs in india: scholarships and support programs in india for chin refugees from burma consisting of 49 grants for university study, and 4 high school student support programs helping 88 students, and 11 primary student support programs supporting 130 children.
Activity 3
Projects in bangladesh: a project in cooperation with children on the edge, supporting rohingya refugees in bangladesh consising of learning centers covering grades 1-3 for 600 working children in cox9s bazar, and 1,200 rohingya children in the kutupalong refugee camp.

SITE VISITS WERE MADE TO BANGLADESH IN 2011 & FEBRUARY, 2013. SCHOLARSHIPS REQUIRE A FORMAL APPLICATION WITH TRANSCRIPT AND AN INTERVIEW WITH A TRUSTEE REPRESENTATIVE. THESE REPRESENTATIVES SPEND UP TO ONE MONTH A YEAR MEETING CANDIDATES AND THEN MENTOR THEM THROUGH THE YEAR. LOCAL REFUGEE LEADERS PROVIDE ONGOING MONITORING AND SUPPORT ALSO. STUDENTS RECEIVE THEIR SCHOLARSHIPS IN TWO PAYMENTS. THE FIRST REQUIRES A SIGNED AGREEMENT AND THE SECOND ONLY AFTER THE STUDENT SENDS A REPORT.
