The board of directors' process for confict of interest review includes an in the moment ability to call out potential conflicts of interest during the year in addition to an annual review of confict of interests as a part of its comprehensive review of all board policies. Each board member is further required to sign an conflict of interest form.

Partners in care's mission is to provide end of life care that honors the dignity and needs of individuals and families and sustains an organization that enriches the lives of patients, families, its teams and its regional communities.

Volunteers visit with hospice patients and families in their homes, the hospice house and care facilities providing support, respite, and socialization. Volunteers also visit with community members facing a life- limiting illness, helping to connect families with community resources and providing support, socialization and respite. They assist with administrative tasks as needed. They assist with presentation in the community, distributing flyers and brochures. At times they assist with fundraising.

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

The organization is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c) (3) of the internal revenue code. As a result, no provision for federal or state income taxes has been made. The organization is required to evaluate tax positions taken and to recognize a tax liability if an uncertain tax position has been taken that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. Areas that taxing authorities consider when examining tax returns for tax exempt entities include, but are not limited to, tax-exempt status and the existence of unrelated business income. The organization does not believe that it has any uncertain tax positions with respect to these or other matters and has not recorded any unrecognized tax benefits or liabilities as of december 31, 2016.
