“The Form 990 and Schedule B are reviewed by the organizations Chief Financial Officer and its Chief Executive Officer. Also, the full Board reviews the Form 990 and Schedule B before filing with the IRS.”

“Annually each Board member must complete a new Conflict of Interest Questionnaire which is reviewed by the Finance Committee. All new Board members are asked to complete the questionnaire before attending their first Board meeting. Members must avoid any relationship or activity that might impair or appear to impair their ability to make objective and fair decisions when performing their duties. At times members may be faced with situations where the business actions they take on behalf of Northwest Center may conflict with their own personal or family interests, because the course of action that is best for the organization may not be in the best course of action for the individual. Members owe a duty to Northwest Center to advance its legitimate interests when the opportunity to do so arises. Members must never use Northwest Center property or information for personal gain or personally take for themselves any opportunity that is discovered though the position with Northwest Center.”

“Annually, the Organization uses the Payscale external compensation system that surveys local non-profit associations and organizations to provide guidance for determining the President and CEO's compensation. The Board established a compensation policy in 2013 and the Board Finance Committee reviews it from time to time.”

“Audited Financial Statements and Form 990 are posted on Northwest Center's website. The Conflict of Interest Policy and other governing documents are available on request.”

“Covid 19 affected many of our enterprises: Early Learning closed 3/17/20 to 5/4/20, opened to limited attendance beginning 5/4/20. NWC purchased software and hardware to reach its students virtually. Early Intervention (therapy) closed 3/17/20 to 5/4/20, opened to virtual therapy beginning 5/4/20. This was a drastic change from in home therapy. Also, less children continue to be diagnosed with needs due to parents limiting doctor visits. NWC purchased upgraded software and hardware allowing our therapists to provide virtual therapy. Clothing Donation single customer was closed by the state 3/17/20 to 5/4/20, however our customer allowed us to deliver product beginning 7/11/20 as significantly reduced capacity. As of 1/30/21 has not returned to pre-Covid quantities. Donor's continued to deliver product which required NWC to rent additional storage space and reorganize operations. Laundry Service to our hospital customer was significantly reduced from early February through end of 2020 due to hospitals only performing emergency services. Janitorial is/was considered essential and continued, however at reduced locations while the customer's employees were under stay-at-home orders. Fundraising - one of our events was cancelled and another was converted to virtual, reducing contributions.”
