“Annually, each board member must complete a new conflict of interest questionnaire which is reviewed by the finance committee. All new board members are asked to complete the questionnaire before attending their first board meeting. Members must avoid any relationship or activity that might impair, or even appear to impair, our ability to make objective and fair decisions when performing our jobs. At times, members may be faced with situations where the business actions they take on behalf of northwest center may conflict with their own personal or family interests, because of the course of action that is best for the organization personally may not also be the best course of action for northwest center. Members owe a duty to northwest center to advance its legitimate interests when the opportunity to do so arises. Members must never use northwest center property or information for personal gain or personally take for ourselves any opportunity that is discovered through the position with northwest center.”

“Annually, the organization uses payscale external compensation system that surveys local non-profit associations and organizations to provide guidance for determining the president and ceo's compensation. The board reviewed the compensation policy at the end of 2013.”
