The majority of the board memebers are not independent as they are compensated by foundation for senior living (fsl) related organizations for their services provided to the fsl organization as a whole. Foundation for senior living has an independent board and they appoint the board members for fsl real estate services.

Fsl real estate services pays fsl management, an affiliate, a management fee. This fee covers services for financial, human resources, risk management oversight, etc.

The controller of the foundation for senior living (fsl) will review the return prior to being submitted to the governing board. The return will also be provided to the fsl board of directors.

Everyone on boards or working for the foundation and its affiliates are covered under the policy. For foundation, conflicts are determined at the fsl board level. For affiliate corporations, conflicts are determined either at the fsl leadership council level or the affiliate board level for both the level at which determinations of whether a conflict exists are made and the level at which actual conflicts are reviewed. All potential conflicts of interest, regardless of how small or insignificant, are to be reported to the president of the board of directors (or committee chair) prior to engaging in a conflict of interest board or committee action. The president will ask the board of directors to make a decision as to whether the relationship is an appropriate one for fsl. The board member declaring the conflict shall retire from the room in the final deliberation regarding the matter under consideration. However, the person shall be permitted to provide the board or committee with any and all information prior to leaving the meeting.

Acacia heights in phoenix, az - located in the pierson place historical district in phoenix, will contain 78 new apartment homes for seniors at or below 60% of the area medium income level. 29 palms ii in phoenix, az - project will feture housing for both low-income tenants and adults with disabilities along the autism spectrum. Partnering with first place, this apartment complex will offer 6 units of transitional housing to adults with autism who have aging family and caregivers who are facing being on their own for the very first time as well as 19 units of intergenerational housing. 320 n. Humphreys in flagstaff, az - fsl is developing land in downtown flagstaff on humphreys st to provide approximately 90 family workforce housing units and 75 units of housing for seniors 62 years old and older. Both the family and senior housing will be supported by the low income housing tax credit (lihtc) program. Village on roeser in phoenix, az - an extension of fsl's existing property, roeser village. Vacant land adjacent to roeser village will be developed to feature 36 new one-bedroom units and a new community building. The 80 existing units at roeser village will be rehabilitated to create 12 two-bedroom units, 10 studios, and 56 one-bedroom units. The combination of rehabilitated units along with the new construction will total in 114 units of affordable housing for seniors. Glendale adult day health services in glendale, az - the project will take place on fsl's existing glendale adhs, where clients and staff had grown out of the existing building. This new state-of-the-art facility will provide a wide array of supportive services for aging adults, including nutritious meals, socialization, therapeutic and recreational activities and nursing supervision.
