The organization's purpose is to help all gain cultural understanding and an appreciation of nature through educational travel. Formed to save Harpers Ferry Hostel & Campground when the previous owner closed it and put the facility up for sale due to the pandemic.

Formed to save Harpers Ferry Hostel & Campground when the previous owner closed it and put the facility up for sale due to the pandemic. The organization purchased the facility in 2020 at the height of the pandemic when the State of Maryland was under a stay-at-home order and all non-essential businesses were closed. The organization used that time to prepare the facility for eventual re-opening post-pandemic.

Formed to save Harpers Ferry Hostel & Campground when the previous owner closed it and put the facility up for sale due to the pandemic. The organization purchased the facility in 2020 at the height of the pandemic when the State of Maryland was under a stay-at-home order and all non-essential businesses were closed. The organization used that time to prepare the facility for eventual re-opening post-pandemic. The organization strives to preserve and promote hostelling in the Mid-Atlantic region.

As a result, Harpers Ferry Hostel & Campground was not able to operate during the 2020 camping season (typically, the end of May through the end of October). The organization used this time to carry out much-needed maintenance and repairs to the facility. While most of this work was done by volunteers, major electrical work was also contracted.
