The executive director, catherine waterbury, is the younger sister of the president, emilee waterbury.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

All board members are given access to a shared google drive. Throughout the year, this drive is organized and updated with information like bank statements, quickbooks reports, tax documents, etc. When form 990 is due, the executive director and president work with an accounting firm to complete the document. All communications with the accounting firm are shared and documented on the google drive and via emails. Before form 990 is filed, all directors and board members confirm the information in a focused board meeting. If form 990 has to be amended, a board meeting is called and mistakes are explained/identified with the help of an accounting firm.

CONVENTIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE IN NM IS TYPICALLY TOO EXPENSIVE FOR THE STATE GOVERNMENT AND WHEN IT IS BUILT, IT CONTRIBUTES TO ENVIRONMENTAL DESTRUCTION. ALTERNATIVE INFRASTRUCTURE AND LIFESTYLES MUST BE CONSIDERED IN THIS CHALLENGING AREA - AND THAT INSPIRED US TO START THIS PROJECT.PURCHASED FROM TWO ELDERLY QUEER WOMEN NAVIGATING ILLNESS AND DESPERATE TO BE CLOSER TO PAVED ROADS (ABOUT 3/4S OF ROADS IN NM ARE NOT PAVED), OUR TEAM HAS TURNED THIS PROPERTY INTO A MODEL FOR LIVING WITHIN THE MEANS OF THE LOCAL ENVIRONMENT. OUR MAIN PROJECT HAS BEEN REPLACING, RENOVATING, OR REIMAGINING ALL OF THE UTILITY SYSTEMS (GREY WATER, SEWAGE, SOLAR, RAINWATER CATCHMENT, ETC.) TO REFLECT THE COMFORTS PROVIDED BY CONVENTIONAL HOUSING. WE HAVE ALSO PRIORITIZED PLANTING NATIVE AND APPROPRIATE VEGETATION ON A SMALL SCALE WHILE WE PLAN FOR LARGER PROJECTS LIKE ROTATION GRAZING, SEED BOMBING, AND WATERSHED LANDSCAPING. THE DESIGN AND LAYOUT OF THIS PROPERTY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM 29 STARR ROAD. THIS DIFFERENCE HAS MADE IT EASY TO COMPARE CERTAIN BUILDING METHODS, FOR EXAMPLE, ROOF SLOPE, SHAPE, AND POSITION. THE TOTAL LACK OF UTILITY SYSTEMS HAS GIVEN OUR TEAM THE OPPORTUNITY TO INSTALL AND CONFIGURE MECHANICS THAT ARE NOT COMMONLY USED. WE BEGAN HOSTING VOLUNTEERS AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES TO PROVIDE ON-SITE EDUCATION ABOUT LIVING IN NM WITHOUT FURTHER CONTRIBUTING TO THE CLIMATE CATASTROPHE. ALL OF OUR PROJECTS ARE POSTED ON SEVERAL ONLINE PLATFORMS TO FURTHER SPREAD THE INFORMATION WE ARE USING AND PRODUCING.NUMBER OF PEOPLE BENEFITTED: EVERYONE WHO LIVES IN TAOS COUNTY, NEW MEXICO AND ANYONE WHO VIEWS THE PROJECTS ON THE ONLINE PLATFORMS.

IN THE HOPES OF REMEDYING SOME HOSTILITY AMONG THE RESIDENTS AND ELIMINATING THE ONGOING PROPERTY TAX, OUR TEAM WAS GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO ABSORB THIS PLOT HE DEEMED A "GREENSPACE." WE IMMEDIATELY MADE THIS LAND A CONSERVATION EASEMENT IN THE HOPES OF PROVIDING A WILDLIFE CROSSING AND DETERRING OVERDEVELOPMENT. OUR MAIN GOAL WITH THIS PROPERTY IS TO CREATE A FORCE BEYOND THE COMMUNITY THAT ADVOCATES AND DEMANDS ENVIRNOMENTAL RESTORATION AND PROTECTION. INSTEAD OF VIEWING THE PUBLIC VIEWING THIS AREA AS A POSSIBLE INVESTMENT OR DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY, WE ARE CREATING AN AIR OF SACREDNESS AND RESTORATION.
