Activity 2

MINISTRY: KSBJ's regular on-air ministry broadcasts to an audience of over 670,000 people of various cultural & denominational backgrounds. KSBJ staff & volunteers manage our 24/7 prayer ministry receiving over 38,600 requests for salvation, rededication, praise, encouragement, spiritual guidance, etc. KSBJ's "Heart for Haiti" dedicated 18 hours of fundraising efforts which raised over $500,000 in relief funds for World Vision, Living Water International, Samaritan's Purse, Compassion International, and 12 other Houston area relief organizations. KSBJ's Prayer Stations were present throughout the year at many prominent locations during important community events including the National Day of Prayer, the Tour de Houston Bike Ride, and the Wings Over Houston Air Show. (Total program expenses for education, ministry, community involvement, and volunteers are reflected in section 4a.)

Activity 3

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: KSBJ raised awareness for Souper Bowl of Caring, the largest Houston area food drive with over 2.5 million pounds of food collected and our listeners helped to provide over 2,500 meals at our day long KSBJ Souper Bowl Party. KSBJ partnered with YMCA Operation Backpack which collected backpacks and new school supplies for more than 34,000 Houston-area children. For the 58th Annual National Day of Prayer, KSBJ had a presence of over 5,000 attendees at 3 locations across the city including the steps of City Hall, the Humble Civic Center, & Magnolia High School Stadium. KSBJ had teams of staff and listeners that participated in the Chevron Houston Marathon. KSBJ's Team Hope rode in the BP MS 150 bike ride and raised over $27,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. KSBJ celebrated with our communities by participating in the Houston Rodeo Parade and the Fiestas Patrias Parade.
