Governance Explanations

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 11B

The form 990 is prepared by an outside cpa firm. Upon completion, the return is reviewed by the director of accounting, cfo, and then the ceo. Once an internal draft is finalized, a secured link is sent to all board members so they may access a pdf copy of the form 990 prior to filing. Once approved, the form is prepared for signature and electronic filing with the internal revenue service.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 12C

The board members are required to annually complete a commitment form that includes a statement of conflict of interest. In addition, board members are required to annually complete a conflict of interest/related party questionnaire. The accounting department staff continually monitor vendors for compliance with the conflict of interest/related party policy. Should a conflict of interest exist, interested parties are required to recuse themselves from the decision making process and subsequent vote.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 15A

The process for determining the compensation of the organization's president involves comparative salary surveys, and is contingent on budget considerations. An independent compensation consultant is engaged for further input, and forms 990 from similar organizations are analyzed. Recommendations are made by the hr committee and compensation packages are approved by a compensation committee, consisting of independent members of the board of directors. Documentation of deliberations and decisions made are kept in the minutes.

FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

Hope media group's mission is to be the voice of hope connecting people more deeply to god. Hope media group shares the gospel of jesus christ through christian music, ministry, and education using broadcasting, events, and mentoring.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 2

Hope media group received the donated assets from ksbj special events during the filing year and began to host live events formerly hosted through ksbj special events. These live events include concerts and other programs providing an opportunity to extend the ministry of hope media group through this additional forum. Adding a live event forum allows people to receive ministry through the word and through music from their favorite christian artists and speakers. It is the goal of hope media group to introduce jesus to every attendee at every event.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

The ministry of hope media group has been impacting lives for jesus christ since 1981. Our mission is to be the voice of hope connecting people more deeply to god, and we accomplish that mission through our on-air broadcasting, digital content, community outreach, prayer initiatives, and concerts and events. Because we are listener-supported, we are able to concentrate on creating programing that ministers to and encourages our listeners. Our programming is designed to fill the airwaves (both traditional and digital) with messages of the faith, hope, and love we have in jesus christ and to provide avenues for our listeners to connect to each other and to the community. During the fiscal year ended june 30, 2021, our programs utilized 590 volunteers giving over 2,500 hours of their time in various roles throughout the year. Ksbj & ngen broadcasting: while our broadcasting stations, ksbj & ngen, have different christian music formats, both share content and messaging of hope found in relationship with jesus christ. On-air, we broadcast to a combined average audience of almost 920,000 listeners on a weekly basis in houston and the surrounding gulf coast region. Web streaming (www.ksbj.org and www.ngenradio.com) and mobile apps provide a way for people to listen anywhere in the world on any device with internet access. Calls, emails, and social media posts come from all over the world with people sharing how much encouragement and hope the ministry has given them. Hope media group/hope on demand: educational programs and content are an integral part of the ksbj ministry. We provide biblically based educational programming designed to educate, train, encourage, and develop listeners in areas of financial stewardship, spiritual growth and maturity, strengthening marriage and family relationships, health and wellness, issues impacting christian worldviews, etc. The bimonthly newsletter serves as an educational outreach to approximately 85,000 recipients. The educational content on the ksbj and ngen websites and numerous social media channels have well over 125,000,000 views/impressions annually. Hope on demand exists to connect people to god more deeply. The digital platform offers videos, podcast and blogs through a collaboration of content creators and organizational partnerships with the single-minded focus of spreading the kind of hope that is true, permanent and found in jesus. The spiritual growth content on hopeonedemand.com, various podcast and social media platforms has over 2,000,000 views/impressions annually. Community outreach: we are committed to giving back to the community and building unity in the body of christ through community outreach efforts. As the voice of hope, we raise awareness, rally support, and connect people with local ministries and charitable organizations. Prayer ministry: at hope media group, we believe that god listens, and we provide opportunities to listeners to both receive prayer and to pray for others. Over the past year, our prayer ministry received approximately 20,000 prayer requests through our various prayer channels and rejoiced for approximately 30 people who dedicated their lives to jesus christ this year. The prayer ministry includes amen: the prayer app mobile application that connects people who are in need of prayer with others who are willing to pray for them, making prayer timely, interactive, and tangible. Every time someone prays for a request, they're sharing hope, support, and encouragement when others need it most. Ksbj prayer connections: you can find out more about ksbj's prayer connections at: www.ksbj.org/prayer-growth/

IRS990/Desc0THE MINISTRY OF HOPE MEDIA GROUP HAS BEEN IMPACTING LIVES FOR JESUS CHRIST SINCE 1981.
