“The Foundation, Holdings, Community Fund, and Initiatives are public, nonprofit 501(C)(3) organizations exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, except to the extent they have unrelated business activities. As such, no provision for federal income taxes has been made in the accompanying consolidated financial statements related to these four entities. The Foundation's policy is to record interest and penalty expense related to income taxes as interest and other expense, respectively.
