Oklahoma central credit union provides consumer and business financial services to include deposit accounts, investments, and loans. Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of our employees, members, and the communities we serve.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Provide enhanced access to credit at reasonable rates - the credit union uses a prudent lending philosophy to offer various loan products at a low cost for members to finance their homes, automobiles, boats, college expenses, etc. During 2010, the credit union approved 4,318 loan requests for over $98.7m. This is $13.9m higher than the previous year. A a total of 411 real estate loans were approved with a dollar amount of $37.1m. We continued to offer fha real estate loans and made a total of 44 for $5.5m. We were approved to offer tulsa county bond money as well. In the member business arena, we approved 23 commercial loan requests totalling $15.4m (the credit union is in its third year of commercial lending - a direct response to our small businees owners requests for financial services. Enhancement were made to our lending matrix; product offerins which included shorter term loans at lower rates contributed to overall high production levels and improved booked percentages.
Activity 3
Community involvement - individually and as a credit union, we support our community in various venues. The credit union again sponsored the 13th annual art of barbeque benefiting the arts and humanities council of tulsa (which takes the "arts" into the public schools), as well as the bixby rotary club bbq 'n music festival kid zone. Each year the credit union provides volunteers as judges and cook-off participants during these events. Financial sponsorships include tulsa university, parade of lights, rockets over rhema in broken arrow, mounds historical society, and the tulsa young professionals, a membership organization of more than 5,000 up and coming business and community leaders. Additional sponsorships and donations helped 20+ organizations, including tulsa day center for the homeless, family & children services, breath of life foundation, salvation army summer camp, alzheimer's association, emergency infant services, meals on wheels, klothes for kids and others. The credit union staff participated in its first project to raise funds for the children's miracle network with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit the children's hospital at st. Francis in tulsa. To kick off the united way campaign, the branches hosted fundraising events from a tailgate-themed party to a chili cook-off and raffles. The credit union achieved 100% employee participation and our largest contribution to date. The partners in education (pie) program gives time and funding to four local schools (carnegie, marshall, and sequoyah elementary schools in tulsa, and north intermediate high school in broken arrow) to help provide school supplies; gifts for teacher appreciation week; field trip fees; and providing test monitors. This year additional funding was provided to help low-income students with much needed clothing, food and other basic supplies. Several school sports program sponsorships which included boys and girls in many cases included: catoosa, jenks, union, sand springs, booker t. Washington and verdigris. The credit union also sponsored instrumental music at memorial high school. The credit union allows each employee 8 hours of community service each year. Some employees have volunteered for united way agencies, special olympics events, and various school functions and community events, including serving as a judge at one of area's largest martin luther king, jr. Speech contests. Our 4th annual shred day was held in october with financial security and helping save the environment by recycling as the two predominant themes - with this year being possibly the highest participation for this event to date. Oklahoma central was a sponsor and took part in the 2010 parade of lights that is an annual event in downtown tulsa celebrating the holiday season.
