Children under the age of twelve so that their energy bills will be reduced and their comfort at home will be increased. Grants make it possible to offer these improvements at no cost to these families. Ccfc contracts with local contractors to encourage economic development in depressed areas.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4C

Services. Ccfc works not only with children, but is dedicated to supporting parents by equipping them to support and advance their children's learning. Parents whose children participate in ccfc's 21st century community learning program, attend monthly workshops on topics designed specially to augment the curriculum and concepts learned in after school and summer camp programs. Parents who themselves face educational deficiencies and/or have limited english skills, are encouraged so that they may in turn optimally support their children's academic success.

Rental community (palm villas)- in dade county, 91 units of affordable rental housing have been completed. This development called palm villas provides pre-homeownership counseling to the residents which will increase their capacity to become a homeowner. Centro campesino owns and serves as property manager for palm villas. Other accomplishments: ccfc also manages biscayne sr. Housing which consists of 31 units for the elderly and disabled. Ccfc developed this hud 202 housing program. In florida city, ccfc received lots for development of low income housing. This was broken up into seven phases totaling 83 units phases 1 through 5 (60 units) were completed and sold prior to 2008. Ccfc assists the homebuyer in obtaining down payment assistance, closing cost assistance and mortgage assistance. Construction restarted late in 2008 for the 13 units of phase 6. Phase 6 was completed in february 2009 and all 13 units were sold by july 2010. The final phase (7) contains 10 units which received an award of 1,400,365 from the miami-dade board of county commissioners on june 7, 2011 to construct 10 rental homes for families of low to moderate income. In 2013 land was donated and has been designated for the final phase (phase 8) social services and advocacy: in addition to these services, ccfc also established a referral system with other service providers for those families needing special services not provided by ccfc. Following the family strengthening objective of the national council of la raza, ccfc tries to make all agency services available to all family members and to make referrals as needed, to our partner agencies and community services. Advocacy is an ongoing activity for ccfc. Ccfc gets involved in any issues which negatively impact the low-income community, particularly the farm worker community. Advocacy issues include fair housing, homelessness, disaster relief, voter registration, and equal access to services. Ccfc also supports the development of other types of organizations whose services will improve the conditions of families and the communities which centro campesino farmworker center serves.
