Mission

The mission of st. Joseph's villa is to provide children with special needs and their families the opportunity to succeed through effective and innovative programs.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Day treatment program provides therapies to children whose behaviors make them at risk of being taken out of their homes or schools. The children learn strategies to manage their behaviors in order to remain in school or in their home. 101 children were served by this program. 88% of the children were able to remain in their homes. A complementary service, intensive in-home services, is designed to assist families in maintaining intact through a variety of clinical interventions. Clients receiving services should demonstrate a risk of being moved into an out-of-home placement or being transitioned to home from an out-of-home placement due to documented medical need.
Activity 3
Developmental disabilities: weekend respite and in-home services provide support services for children with developmental disabilities, including autism. 24 students ages 6 to 22 attended sarah dooley center for autism, receiving academic and behavior education and career and transition services. Approximately 85 children were served by the day support, weekend respite and in-home services programs, which provide support services for children with developmental disabilities. Children in the villa's summer program were able to take two field trips each day as part of their recreational activities. St. Joseph's villa introduced in-home behavior treatment (epsdt) services in february 2011. The service helps families better manage children with developmental disabilities who exhibit extreme negative behaviors.

THIS DESIGN MAKES THE FACILITY DESIRABLE TO BOTH DISABLES ADULTS WISHING TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY AND ALSO ELDERS WHO CAN "AGE IN PLACE". THE APARTMENT COMPLEXES HAVE SIXTY UNITS, AND THERE IS ALWAYS A WAITING LIST, WHICH WE HAVE CURRENTLY CLOSED. THIS ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN BECAUSE OF THE HIGH VOLUME OF APPLICANTS ON THE WAITING LIST RESULTING IN AN AVERAGE WAIT OF OVER 24 MONTHS (2 YEARS). A NOTICE WILL BE PUBLISHED WHEN WE RESUME ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS.
