Supplemental Narrative

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The center is a nonprofit organization as described in section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and is exempt from federal income taxes. The center files a form 990 (return of organization exempt from income tax) annually. When a return is filed, it is highly certain that some positions taken would be sustained upon examination by the taxing authorities, while others may be subject to uncertainty about the merits of the tax positions taken or the amount of the positions that would ultimately be sustained. Management evaluated tax positions taken, or expected to be taken, on the center's tax return, including positions that the center is exempt from income taxes or not subject to income taxes on unrelated business income. The portion of the benefits associated with tax positions taken that exceeds the amount measured as described above is reflected as a liability for uncertain tax benefits in the accompanying statement of financial position along with any associated interest and penalties that would be payable to the taxing authorities upon examination. No uncertain tax benefits or provisions were identified and recorded as a liability or asset as of december 31, 2014 and 2013. The center has unrelated business income related to certain benchmark membership contracts. The center's current provision for income taxes totaled approximately $2,300 for the year ended december 31, 2014. Forms 990 filed by the center are no longer subject to examination for the years ended december 31, 2010, and earlier.
