Mission

The fair trade federation is the trade association that strengthens and promotes north american organizations fully committed to fair trade. The federation is part of the global fair trade movement, building equitable and sustainable trading partnerships and creative opportunities to alleviate poverty. The federation values guide our work to create a just and sustainable economic system.

The FTF is a trade association of fair trade enterprises fully committed to equitable and sustainable trading partnerships. We strengthen and support our members in order to grow the global movement of trade that values the health of the plant and the labor, dignity and equality of all people.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Member Programing, Promotion, and Partnerships In 2020 the Federation pivoted and worked to educate consumers and retailers on the value of verified fair trade brands(especially in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic) by creating onling guides. They included a Holiday Gift Guide, A Fair Trade Stores & Cafe Guide, as well as a newly redesigned fair trade wholesale guide. In September, the Federation facilitated its very first virtual wholesale show, which was attended by approximately 850 retailers, advocates, and entrepreneurs. Lastly, the Federation focused on creating and fostering member-exclusive market access partnerships, which were designed to help FTF members navigate and sustain the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on their fair trade enterprises, producers, artisans, and farmers around the world.
