The fair trade federation is the trade association that strengthens and promotes north american organizations fully committed to fair trade. The federation is part of the global fair trade movement, building equitable and sustainable trading partnerships and creative opportunities to alleviate poverty. The federation values guide our work to create a just and sustainable economic system.

Using the FTFs code of practice as a guide, applicants are screened against all 9 fair trade principles. Existing members are reverified annually, assuring their practices are meeting the standards set in the code of practice, and continued improvement over time.
