Effective november 1, 2016, era entered into a management service agreement for an outsourced firm to provide operational, financial, and corporate management services. Governance responsibility remains with the board of directors.

As a trade association with member classifications, era is made up of dues-paying members with explicit rights detailed in the organization's by-laws.
