Effective november 1, 2016, era entered into a management service agreement for an outsourced firm to provide organizational, financial and corporate management services. Governance responsibility remains with the board of directors.

As a trade association with member classifications, era is made up of dues-paying members with explicit rights detailed in the organization's by-laws.

Dues-paying members have the right to elect the board of directors of the organization.

An electronic copy of the form 990 is provided to management and the executive committee for approval prior to filing with the internal revenue service.

Board members disclose conflicts of interest in a signed statement annually. Any conflicts that arise are discussed with the president, board chairman and executive committee to determine the course of action.

The executive compensation committee reviews compensation of the president annually by using comparable salary information obtained from other similar organizations' forms 990. A written employment contract is also established and approved by the board. The president's compensation was last reviewed in march 2016. As of november 2016, organization no longer has employees. Management company is prodiving core and non-core staffing.
