Mission

Open work's mission is to make tools, technology, and the knowledge to use them accessible and affordable for individuals, families and organizations in the baltimore metropolitan area. Open works functions as a platform for start-up companies and individual entrepreneurs who require access to sophisticated fabrication tools and technologies, and to affordable rental space for their ventures. Open works also functions as an educational resource that brings the practices of "making" to schools, families and motivated individuals in baltimore neighborhoods where it is located.

To revitalize economically depressed communities in baltimore through economic development, workforce development, skills development in product design and fabrication, entrepreneurship training, and incubation of small business start-ups.
