Covid-19 human services response community spoke was responsible for leading ottawa county's human services response to covid-19. This included convening daily, and then weekly, calls with community leaders to deal with the specific human service needs created with the onset of covid-19. This included addressing acute food insecurity, job loss, housing insecurity, childcare, and addressing mental health needs through the intervention of nonprofits, government, churches, schools, and other critical individuals and organizations.

Ottawa county human services coordinating council community spoke regularly convened a group of 45+ leaders in the health and human services space in ottawa county to discuss community needs, avoid duplication in services, and look for ways to collaborate. Thrive ottawa county community spoke was responsible for leading a collaborative effort called thrive ottawa county which aimed to provide education and promote awareness of how adverse childhood experiences (aces) impact our long-term physical and mental health, and to help connect people to local resources that can encourage growth and resilience. This effort consisted of training 100 local "community champions" on aces/resilience and deploying them into the community to educate others on this important information.
