Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

Samco is a not-for-profit organization and is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(6) of the internal revenue code, except to the extent it has unrelated business activites and lobbying activities. As such, a provision for federal proxy taxes has been made in the accompanying financial statements. U.s. Generally accepted accounting principles require samco management to evaluate tax positions taken by samco and recognize a tax liability (or asset) if samco has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the internal revenue service. Samco's management has analyzed the tax postitions taken by samco and has concluded that as of september 30, 2019 and 2018, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability (or asset) or disclosure in the financial statements. Samco is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. Samco's management beleive it is no longer subject to income tax examinations for years prior to 2016.
