OUR MENTAL HEALTH COORDINATORS WORK WITH SCHOOLS AND MEDICAL CLINICS TO IDENTIFY CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN NEED, AND THEN GUIDE THEM THROUGH A NETWORK OF MENTAL HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICE PROVIDERS. IN 2017, CONNECTIONS RECEIVED 1,472 REFERRALS FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN (54% FROM OMAHA PUBLIC SCHOOLS, 13% FROM PAPILLION/LAVISTA, 15% FROM MILLARD, 18% FROM OTHER REFERRAL SOURCES). ALL OF THESE CHILDREN WERE ASSIGNED A MENTAL HEALTH COORDINATOR, WHO HELPED THEM NAVIGATE MENTAL HEALTH AND COMMUNITY SERVICES. ROUGHLY 60% OF THOSE ELIGIBLE CHILDREN WERE MATCHED WITH AN APPROPRIATE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES PROVIDER. |
