Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

In 2020, portal partnered with gee nepal by providing bicycles to get girls to school. Shortly after a trip to the southern regions of nepal to determine the feasibility of cargo bicycles in that area, the world recognized covid19 as a dangerous pandemic and nepal joined several countries by enforcing lockdowns with only essential businesses allowed to operate. Starting in march, through strictly enforced lockdowns, portal sent food and supplies to people quarantined in the banepa region; rice: 200kg, dhal: 16 kg, oil: 16 l, salt 16 kg, beaten rice: 8 kg, soy: 8 kg and medical masks. We distributed food and supplies to our entrepreneurs, people migrating back on foot to homeiillages when daily work was not available, and elderly living in machegaun and chobar; rice: 700 kg, oil: 28 l, salt: 28 kg. Together with the international cycling community, we brought food to 180 families living in 4 different villages that were deeply affected by travel bans and lockdowns; rice: 4,500 kg, oil: 180 l, salt: 180 kg. We provided transportation to carry warm meals to people around kathmandu who had lost work and a means of income, hundreds of meals were delivered. Portal created content on best hygiene practices around hand washing, face covering and maintaining a social distance by producing videos and educational content specific to nepal. The monsoon season hit hard and record breaking rainfall triggered landslides that wiped out hundreds of homes. With help from portal donors, in less than 12 days, we raised funds, sourced and transported materials, and taught the community how to build shelters. We reached a small village in sindhupalchoke with 18 new shelters to provide transitional homes for the families living there. In between lockdowns, 23 new entrepreneurs received portal cargo bikes to start and grow their businesses. Our team provided bicycle maintenance and servicing to our entrepreneurs. We joined a zoom panel discussing portals work in nepal, the benefits of providing local entrepreneurs with transportation, tools and training and discussing how bicycles can make a positive impact. In the winter, we surprised children living close to our workshop with warm hats and gloves for the cold weather.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0IN 2020, PORTAL PARTNERED WITH GEE NEPAL BY PROVIDING BICYCLES TO GET GIRLS TO SCHOOL.
