“Portal funded 2 grants: 1) earthquake reconstruction grant:. Portal usa approved and funded a grant of 25,500 to support the reconstruction of permanent homes in nepal, helping people as they recover from the 2015 earthquake. 2) cargo bike grant: portal usa approved and funded a grant to make 350 long-tail cargo bikes available to people in nepal. This grant was partially funded in 2016. The program is ongoing and is expected to be fully funded in 2017. The grant funding in 2016 was 53,300.”
“Is accessible to people living in developing countries. This effort proved to be more challenging and time consuming than expected. However, by year end, pre-production samples were undergoing testing in nepal in preparation for mass production commencing in early 2017. These pre-production samples have received rave reviews from past portal entrepreneurs familiar with the bikes, as well as members of the general public surveyed regarding the refined design. We are proud to have been a part of bringing something to life that has the potential to make a dramatic difference in the lives of people around the world, especially those living in developing countries. We expect the fruits of our labor to be abundant and sweet as these bicycles reach the nepal market in 2017. In 2016 we also supported the reconstruction of 16 homes for families affected by the 2015 earthquake. These families were located in the dhading district of nepal, an area heavily effected by not only the earthquake, but the subsequent landslides that followed. Working with partners in nepal, we were able to provide homes consisting of a prefabricated steel frame, corrugated steel roof, and protective wire netting to these families. The families, in turn, provided their own labor and resources to construct solid walls, windows, and doors. The response to this project has been tremendous and all recipients have expressed immense gratitude. We are proud to be able to support the reconstruction of earthquake-safe homes in a way that involves the beneficiary in the process of design and construction. We also love seeing families empowered to get back to work, knowing that they can turn their focus away from reconstructing their homes and toward income generating activities. Both of these activities contributed toward providing 22,327 man hours of work to local nepalis. It is an honor and a privilege to empower people to create their own pathways out of poverty. We want to send our sincerest thanks to all of our amazing friends and supporters of that make this possible. Thank you”

| IRS990/Desc | 0 | IN 2016, PORTALS WORK FOCUSED ON 2 PRIMARY AREAS: MAKING PORTAL CARGO BIKES AVAILABLE AT A LARGE SCALE, AND HELPING PEOPLE IN NEPAL AS THEY RECOVERED FROM THE 2015 EARTHQUAKE. IN 2016, PORTAL ENTREPRENEURS CONTINUED USING THEIR CYCLES TO GENERATE INCOME AND IMPROVE THEIR LIVES, WITH ONE ENTREPRENEUR VISITING THE MARKET 1,095 TIMES TO PICK UP SUPPLIES FOR HIS BUSINESS, ANOTHER MAKING OVER 15,300 DELIVERIES TO LOCAL SHOPS, AND A THIRD CARRYING 144,000 BAGS OF POTATO CHIPS ON THE BACK OF HIS CYCLE. OUR WORK TO EXPAND THIS PROJECT WAS FOCUSED HEAVILY ON DEVELOPING A SUPPLY CHAIN CAPABLE OF BRINGING THESE BICYCLES TO MARKET AT A LARGE SCALE, AND AT A QUALITY AND PRICE POINT THAT IS ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE LIVING IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES. THANK YOU |

THE GRANT FUNDING IN 2016 WAS 53,300. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 1 | IS ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE LIVING IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES. THANK YOU |
