We believe in the importance of the maine clean elections act, the first system of full public financing for state candidates in the country, passed by referendum in 1996.”

“The executive director salary was paid via a common paymaster, a related organization (maine citizens for clean elections, a 501c3 organization). Mcce action reimbursed 100% of mcce action's portion of ed salaries, taxes,and fringe benefits to maine citizens for clean elections, unless the cost was forgiven as it was this year. The forgiven amount (15,081) appears in grant revenues and also payroll expenses. The grant forgiveness is shown on schedule b. The mcce action executive director salary portion for 2019-2020 was 3,702 (6% of full time). Due to this arrangement, no w2 was paid out of mcce action.”
