“The organization does not have committees.”
“The organization did not provide a final copy of this form 990 to its board of directors before filing the form. However, the board meets on a regular basis to review the financial records from which the form 990 is prepared. The final form 990, as filed, will be e-mailed to the board upon completion, and is always available for review upon request.”
“The conflict of interest policy uniformly applies to all directors, officers and employees of the organization who may have a direct or indirect "financial interest". Mission 14's board of directors administers and interprets the policy and reviews it periodically for adequacy. The periodic reviews include whether compensation arrangements and benefits are reasonable and the result of arm's length bargaining; and whether any partnerships, joint ventures and related relationships conform to mission 14's written policies, are properly recorded, reflect reasonable terms, further its charitable purposes and do not result in inurement, impermissible private benefit or an excess benefit transaction. After disclosure of the financial interest and all material facts, and after any discussion with the individual, the board of directors determines whether a conflict of interest exists. The individual who is involved is excused from the meeting and does not participate in the deliberations. If the board determines a conflict exists, the individual is given an opportunity to explain the alleged failure to disclose. If, after hearing the response and after making further investigation as warranted by the circumstances, the board of directors determines the individual has failed to disclose an actual or possible conflict of interest, it shall take appropriate disciplinary and corrective action.”
“The executive director's salary is reviewed and approved by the board of directors on an annual basis. There are no conflicts of interest. Documentation of all deliberations & decisions regarding the compensation are kept by the board. No other officers are compensated and there are no key employees.”
“The organization's governing documents and financial records are available for public inspection upon request.”

“Fin 48 footnote: the internal revenue service has not examined (audited) any income tax returns of the organization; thus, the previous two (2) years are subject to examination. The organization has not taken any questionable tax positions with respect to unrelated business income tax or anything that would jeopardize its 501(c)(3) status.”

WE OFFERED AN ADVENTURE TRIP TO CLIMB KILIMANJARO ENCOURAGING EACH PARTICIPANT TO REACH OUT TO THEIR SOCIAL NETWORK FOR DONATIONS AND/OR PLEDGES TO MISSION 14. EACH PARTICIPANT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS/HER OWN TRIP COSTS SO THAT THERE WERE NO PROGRAM COSTS INCURRED FOR MISSION 14. THIS ADVENTURE AND SIMILAR FUTURE ONES HELP TO PROMOTE OUR VISION OF ENGAGEMENT - A CALL TO INDIVIDUAL ACTION, TO "BE BRAVE". THE RESULTS ARE NOT JUST FUNDS RAISED TO SUPPORT OUR EXISTING AND NEW PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS ON THE FRONT LINES, BUT AN ARMY OF DIFFERENCE MAKERS AT HOME, IN COMMUNITIES AND THE WORKPLACE. SEWING CENTER: OUR PARTNERSHIP CONTINUED TO GROW WITH ORPHANETWORK HELPING TO SUPPORT THE SEWING CENTER IN ITS FIRST FULL YEAR AS ITS OWN NGO IN NICARAGUA. THE SEWING CENTER DEVELOPED AND LAUNCHED A PROGRAM FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAINING INDIVIDUALS IN THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY, WHICH INCLUDED INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINE OPERATION AS WELL AS GARMENT DESIGN AND PRODUCTION. UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THIS PROGRAM, THE CENTER ALSO ASSISTS GRADUATES WITH JOB PLACEMENT WHERE THEY CAN USE THEIR NEWLY ACQUIRED SKILLS. WE ALSO PROVIDED A SPECIAL GRANT TO SUPPORT ORPHANETWORK'S LIFE SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM FOR YOUTH AND EDUCATORS IN LOCAL CHURCH INITIATIVE COMMUNITIES.PARTNER GRANTS: IN 2016, MISSION 14 ALSO CONTINUED AND EXPANDED ITS PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER LIKE-MINDED ORGANIZATIONS WHO ARE MOVING THIS FIGHT FORWARD AND TO FURTHER OUR MISSION AS STATED ABOVE. THESE ORGANIZATIONS WERE ALSO VETTED THROUGH AN APPLICATION PROCESS TO FURTHER UNDERSTAND THEIR MISSION AND VALUES AND HOW WE COULD POTENTIALLY SUPPORT THEM. ORGANIZATIONS WERE SELECTED ON THE BASIS OF ORGANIZATIONAL FOCUS, INTERESTS, REPUTATION, RESOURCES, GEOGRAPHIC AND SERVICE DIVERSITY. ALL RECEIVED FINAL APPROVAL BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. WE PROVIDED A GRANT TO SHARED HOPE INTERNATIONAL FOR ITS JUST (JUVENILE SEX TRAFFICKING) FAITH CONFERENCE. THIS HELPED TO SUPPORT ITS EFFORTS TO BRING LEARNING AND ACTION TO THE FAITH COMMUNITY. THIS INCLUDED PROVIDING ATTENDEES WITH A RESOURCE KIT TO EQUIP THEM WITH FIGHTING HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN THEIR LOCAL CHURCHES AND COMMUNITIES. TINY HANDS INTERNATIONAL DOES WORK IN SOUTH ASIA TO END THE HUMAN TRAFFICKING OF YOUNG WOMEN AND CHILDREN THROUGH ITS GOBTALY BUS STATION TRANSIT MONITORING PROJECT. MISSION 14'S GRANT ALLOWED TINY HANDS TO EXPAND ITS BORDER MONITORING EFFORTS IN BANGLADESH TO RESCUE YOUNG WOMEN AND CHILDREN WHO ARE TRAFFICKED. MISSION 14 ALSO PROVIDED A GRANT TO LOVE146 SO THAT THEY COULD CONTINUE TO PROVIDE A HIGH LEVEL OF SURVIVOR CARE IN THE PHILIPPINES TO BOYS WHO HAVE BEEN TRAFFICKED AND EXPLOITED. THIS INCLUDES CARE IN A SHELTER, WHICH PROVIDES THE BOYS WITH HOLISTIC THERAPY, FOOD, HEALTH, AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE, EDUCATIONAL TUITION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING, HELPING TO MOVE THEM TOWARDS RECOVERY AND PREVENT THEIR RE-VICTIMIZATION IN THE FUTURE. THE MISSION OF FAAST (FAITH ALLIANCE AGAINST SLAVERY AND TRAFFICKING) IS TO MOBILIZE AND EQUIP COMMUNITIES TO COMBAT SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND TO RESTORE SURVIVORS. MISSION 14'S GRANT TO FAAST WAS USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING THE RESPONSE OF LOCAL NGOS AND CHUR |
