Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Hired's mission is to provide personalized and innovative work solutions. Our goal is to help jobseekers, especially low-income and disadvantaged individuals, meet their personal and financial needs through employment. Hired achieves this goal by helping people remove barriers to their employability, preparing them for self-sustaining jobs through innovative job training and/or skills development programs, and then connecting them to employment opportunities with the guidance of knowledgeable employment counselors. Hired takes a proactive, market-driven approach to workforce development, working closely with the local business community to ensure workers are prepared for high-demand professions. The organization is funded primarily through contracts from federal and state sources, as well as charitable contributions from private foundations and individuals.

Hired provides personalized and innovative work solutions. Our goal is to help jobseekers, especially low-income and disadvantaged individuals, meet their personal and financial needs through employment.

HIRED HELPS HUNDREDS OF LOW-INCOME ADULTS PREPARE FOR AND ENTER EMPLOYMENT EACH YEAR THROUGH OUR ADULT PROGRAMS. SECTOR-BASED JOB TRAINING INITIATIVES: IN PARTNERSHIP WITH COLLEGES, THE LOCAL BUSINESS COMMUNITY AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS, HIRED OPERATES JOB TRAINING PROGRAMS IN: MANUFACTURING, HEALTH CARE, CUSTOMER SERVICE, TRANSPORTATION AND GREEN JOBS. THE OBJECTIVE OF EACH INITIATIVE IS TO IMPROVE THE EMPLOYABILITY AND EARNINGS OF LOW-WAGE WORKERS BY MEETING THE WORKFORCE NEEDS OF THE LOCAL MARKETPLACE. UPON GRADUATION, PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATES, INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC CREDENTIALS AND JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE. THE PROGRAMS SERVE HUNDREDS OF INDIVIDUALS EACH YEAR.
