The northland foundation invests in people and communities to support a thriving northeast minnesota. We do this through grants to nonprofits, loans to businesses, the kids plus program, our assisted living facilities in ne mn, and other special initiatives.

The finance committee will then recommend approval at the next board meeting. At that meeting, the 990 will be discussed and approved.”
“The board of trustees, committee members and staff make regular decisions regarding disbursement or assignment of resources from the foundation for business loans, contracts, community and economic development grants and for the ongoing operation of the foundation, and shall represent the entire region fairly. NORTHLAND FOUNDATION HOSTS THE REGIONAL SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER (SBDC). THE SBDC'S MISSION IS TO "HELP ENTREPRENEURS AND BUSINESSES GROW AND SUCCEED" BY PROVIDING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND ONE-ON-ONE CONSULTING SERVICES TO SMALL AND MEDIUM SIZED BUSINESSES AT NO COST TO THE CLIENT. THE REGIONAL CENTER IS LOCATED IN DULUTH; THERE ARE ALSO FIVE OTHER SATELLITE OFFICES SPREAD ACROSS THE REGION. THE REGIONAL FOOTPRINT OF THE SBDC MATCHES THE NORTHLAND FOUNDATION FOOTPRINT. |
