Scan-uwkc: the stop child abuse and neglect (scan) program aims to help children grow up in a physically safe, abuse free environment. Scan provides a continuum of child abuse awareness curricula to children in school settings in kenosha county. Scan-uwrc: the stop child abuse and neglect (scan) program aims to help children grow up in a physically safe, abuse free environment. Scan provides a continuum of child abuse awareness curricula to children in school settings in racine county. These programs teach children to recognize abusive situations, distinguish between safe/unsafe touches, say "no" to unwanted advances, tell an adult about such episodes, as well as assuring children that such incidents are never the fault of the child. Sas-voca: sexual assault services utilizes voca funding to provide a full range of direct services to sexual assault victims, including crisis intervention, advocacy, therapy, bilingual (spanish) services, alternative healing, and more. Voca funding is also used to recruit, train, and maintain a base of volunteer advocates who also provide direct services to sexual assault victims. Sas-uw racine: sexual assault services utilizes united way funding to support all program services. Direct victim services, prevention education, community awareness, and supervision and administration of the program are all partially funded by united way. Sas-savs: sexual assault services utilizes savs funding to provide a variety of direct services to sexual assault victims. Savs funding is also used for prevention education and community outreach and awareness activities and programs. Sas-saki: sexual assault services utilizes saki funding to provide some direct program services, as well as coordinate and facilitate case review of sexual assault investigations involving previously untested sexual assault evidence kits. Saki funds are also used to advertise to the community program services and the need for volunteers. Lift fast: this program is the same as the united way of racine county fast listed above, and is an additional funding stream for extra sites. F.a.s.t. (families and schools together) is an innovative and collaborative prevention and parent-involvement program in which families gather at their schools for five weekly, evening sessions to participate in specific, fun, researched based activities aimed at strengthening families and empowering agents. Opportunities club: this is an after-school and summer programming series that provides youth unique educational experiences. The program will teach on topics ranging from cooking to robotics, while at the same time helping participants develop skills that will reduce the likelihood that they engage in risky behavior. We know that after school and summer are times when youth may be at greater risk of choosing to engage in activities that may lead them to dangerous or pattern-forming behaviors.
