Profile

At community action coalition for south central wisconsin, inc. (cac) our mission is to transform our communities by fostering conditions where everyone can achieve social and economic security. Cac exists to push back on poverty. Our organization was born out of the war on poverty, and that purpose motivates us to this day. But while we've been around for five decades, we're committed to evolving the way we work to help people live better lives. It's time for a new approach to housing security, food security and essential resources. We champion flexibility rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all solution. By working with our strong network, we identify specific needs within each of our three communities, and carry out a plan to generate the greatest impact. When we transform together, we create lasting change.

Additional Explanations

FORM 990, PART XII, LINE 2C:

The process has not changed from the prior year.

Financial Statement Notes

PART V, LINE 4:

The intended use of the organization's endowment funds is to provide a reserve for future operations.

PART X, LINE 2:

Cac is required to assess whether it is more likely than not that a tax position will be sustained upon examination on the technical merits of the position assuming the taxing authority has full knowledge of all information. If the tax position does not meet the more likely than not recognition threshold, the benefit of that position is not recognized in the financial statements. Accordingly, no provision or liability for income taxes has been included in the financial statements. Cac has determined there are no amounts to record as assets or liabilities related to uncertain tax positions as of december 31, 2024.

IRS990/MissionDesc0AT COMMUNITY ACTION COALITION FOR SOUTH CENTRAL WISCONSIN, INC.
