“The organization has an annual audit conducted by an outside auditor and reviewed by the finance committee. In conjunction with the audit, the auditor prepares the form 990. Both are provided to all board members and discussed at a board meeting.”

“All members sign a conflict of interest policy and annually the policy is discussed with the ramificatons of what conflict of interest entails. All potential conflicts are documented in board minutes with board members recusing themselves from any deliberations that might appear to be a conflict.”

The board president then proposes compensation, which is then voted on by the full board. The executive director annually reviews all staff positions and proposes salary guidelines to the executive committee. The salary guidelines are then approved as part of the annual budget process.”
