Activity 2

Medc keep michigan working edjt grant. This program provided training in new markets to michigan companies seeking to reduce their dependence on traditional customers. During 2011, 191 michigan manufacturers took advantage of the program, under which the michigan economic development corporation paid 70% of the training fees and the manufacturer 30%. An estimated 552 individuals, mainly executives and managers from the sales function were trained. The companies whose training was completed on or before 12/31/11 reported the following impacts that they credited to their training under the program: at least 3763 quotes totaling $1.2 billion; 558 orders won, totaling $81m; 387 new jobs created or retained. (note: approximately 40% of these reported benefits were attributed to projects managed, but not delivered, by the mmtc.)

Activity 3

Local michigan works! Agencies iwt grants: 18 michigan manufacturers were served by michigan manufacturing technology center, with project work supported by funding made available by local michiganworks! (wia) agencies. An estimated 191 staff days were spent delivering these projects, 93% of which were in the area of lean, six sigma, quality, activity-based quoting, and market diversification.
