STAFF IS ON SITE TO MEET WITH VICTIMS PRIOR TO COURT HEARINGS TO PROVIDE SAFETY PLANNING, CRISIS INTERVENTION, AND ADVOCACY. WE ALSO HAVE ESTABLISHED A PROGRAM OFFICE AT THE MACOMB COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT PROVIDING DANGER ASSESSMENTS AND OTHER RESOURCES FOR INDIVIDUALS SEEKING PERSONAL PROTECTION ORDERS. TURNING POINT'S CHILDREN'S PROGRAM STAFF WAS RECOGNIZED WITH THE SEEDLING AWARD FROM THE MICHIGAN COALITION TO END DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SUPPORT SERVICES TO CHILDREN IN SHELTER AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM. IN ADDITION TO EMERGENCY AND SUPPORT SERVICES WE ALSO DELIVER A COMPREHENSIVE PREVENTION PROGRAM ON DATING VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT TO OVER 6,000 COMMUNITY YOUTH EACH YEAR. THE PROGRAM OPERATES IN 60% OF THE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS IN MACOMB COUNTY.
