“1.the press: our press is a multi-disciplinary printmaking studio that provides the community access to 5 intaglio presses, 1 lithography press and 30 stones, 2 letterpresses, 3 proofing presses, 1 book press, over 200 cases of type, line-o-scribe, foiler, light table, drying racks, flat files, a nuarc exposure unit, darkroom and washout booth. We have local artists, artists- in-residence participants, interns and high school mentorship students utilizing our space daily. Artspace provides workshops, demonstrations, artistic collaborations and an open studio space for the oklahoma city artist community. 2. Mentorship program: the print studio hosts our mentorship program impacting over 120 high school students' every year the mentorship program exists to transform students lives through art and to prepare them for a dynamic academic and professional future. Each month of the school year,120 oklahoma city public school students spend one full day in groups of 12 students a month working in our incubator with professional creatives from the community and visiting artists from our two residency programs. Many of these students stay in the program for three years. Our incubator inspires curiosity, creativity, experimentation, innovation, collaboration and dialogue with the art community under the leadership of the creative and education directors. Near the end of the year artspace invited annavittoria conner pickett to lead the program, and with her leadership, this coming year will show new programming and growth. Also near the end of the year with individual gifts artspace purchased 15 ipads with pencils, cases and software to introduce more digital options to their curriculum. 3.air: the artist in residence program provides four local and two to four national/international visiting artists per year. In 2019 artspace hosted 3 national air participants chicago letterpress and graphic novelist, allie ceasar, wyoming educator and printmaker, james bailey and finishing out the year, san francisco sculptor, gyngy laky. These artists have 24/7 access to a living space and studio space and we ask them to interact with our mentorship students as well as the local air and community artists through workshops, lectures etc. The local air participants were trace logan, adrienne day, carol webster and ric miller. The air program allows artspace to introduce a new voice in the community where dialogue and the exchange of ideas result in a learning experience for our mentorship students who would never have that opportunity in their school system. 4.postcard perspectives: one of this year's projects, (postcard perspectives) was to create dialogue across borders and cultures and backgrounds through mail art. We had over 2,000 original works of art in postcard format sent to us from 29 countries and 39 states in the usa. We exhibited these cards and the proceeds of the sale supports our programming. At the end of the exhibit we exchanged the postcards among the participating artists and mailed them around the world to continue the dialogue. This will be a continuing program with artspace. 5.the gallery: the artspace gallery has over 6,000 square feet to display various art forms. Both two-dimensional works such as paintings, photography, prints and three-dimensional works such as sculpture and installations have been exhibited. In 2019 our exhibits included paintings by local watercolorist greg burns, a curated exhibition by emily reynolds of anonyma fine art, montana printmaker, james bailey, local photographer lawrence hultberg, california sculptor, gyngy laky, local photographer janis blevins and the global postcard perspective project ending the year. 6.community spirits: this is our thursday night programming and is the related programming around all exhibits, which includes lectures, short film series, panel discussions, live music, podcasts and interviews, workshops, classes and make & take sessions in the print studios to introduce the p”
