Keep akron beautiful brings out the best in what akron has to offer for a lasting, positive impact on our region. It has been keep akron beautifuls pleasure to serve akron in 2022 through: removing akrons litter/clean up akron month - in march of 2022, we put a spotlight on just how bad akrons litter really was and garnered the support needed to clean it up. After nine months, we have made considerable litter reduction progress. 4,788 volunteers removed 43.03 tons of trash and 595 tires from 44 sites, including 7 schools the litter index for the city of akron is now rated 1.8 on a scale of 1-5 (1 being the least littered, 5 being the worst). Cleaning up our city parks kab led the charge of four corporate volunteer projects including planting, mulching, and painting for parks week from may 9-13, 2022. Recycle right campaign kab worked with the city to address contamination at the curb through the recycle right campaign. Prior to this campaign, our contamination rate was at an all-time high of 39% (2019), reduced now to 22.3%. Beautiful blooms kab planted a total of 20 professionally maintained flowerscapes, 70 great streets planters, and 71 volunteer adopt-a-sites this year. Beautification watch awards kab thanked property and business owners by sending 3,200 beautification watch awards to standout properties. Beautification projects as of october 3, 2022, 17 projects were completed utilizing the community pride trailer, and litter & illegal dump cleanup trailer, in all ten wards of the city of akron. Daily litter cleanup as of november 1st, 38 tons of litter were removed from city streets, expressways, parks, and roadsides. 62 illegal dumps were remediated, and 36 graffiti sites were abated. Keep akron beautiful takes pride in knowing the impact we have on our community. Did you know kab is the only entity in akron focused on picking up litter? Keep akron beautifuls work is a one-of-a-kind investment that enhances the quality of life in our great city. Neighborhoods where vacant lots were cleaned up experience reductions in gun violence, burglaries and drops in nuisances like illegal dumping. Supporting keep akron beautiful is a chance to do something that truly benefits akronand that is important to all of us.

Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

The preparation of financial statements in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america requires the organization to report information regarding its exposure to various tax positions taken by the organization. The organization has determined whether any tax positions have met the recognition threshold and has measured the organization's exposure to those tax positions. Management believes that the organization has adequately addressed all relevant tax positions and that there are no unrecorded tax liabilities. Federal and state tax authorities generally have the right to examine and audit the previous three years of tax returns filed. If incurred, the organization records tax related penalties and interest as management and general costs in the accompanying statements of activities and changes in net assets and functional expenses. However, the organization incurred no tax related penalties or interest in 2022 or 2021.
