“The human resources (hr) committee of the board of directors conducts a performance evaluation of the executive director and an analysis of benchmarking compensation surveys from organizations representative of the nonprofit industry. After reviewing the materials, the hr committee recommends the salary increase to the executive committee of the board and then to the full board. The full board votes to approve the salary. The deliberation and decision of this process is conducted in an executive session and substantiated by board approval of the hr committee recommendation. The chair of the hr committee reports the salary increase to the executive director and chief operating officer. The last review took place in may 2016. The executive director has the authority to determine all other compensation in consultation with the board.”
