“The Board of Directors reviews the financial statements that support the Form 990. The Board's Audit Committee and Executive Director review the draft Form 990. The filed return is made available to directors who wish to review it.”

“Annually, members of the Board of Directors and staff are required to review and sign the Code of Conduct which includes a specific Conflict of Interest policy. All contracts and vendors are chosen from multiple bids by qualified vendors. If a qualified vendor is the lowest and best option to the organization and is a related party to the Board or staff, the relationship is disclosed appropriately. Related parties may not participate or vote in such matters.”

“Periodically, an independent committee from the Board of Directors reviews the performance and salary of the Executive Director and Program Director. The review is presented to the Board of Directors for ratification and inclusion in the budget. The committee uses data for similarly qualified persons in comparable positions in comparably sized non-profit organizations to review salary levels.”

“Upon request, governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements are made available by mail, electronically, or in person at the organization's offices.”

“In Fall 2019, we addressed the alarming increase (80%) of our client moms having substance addictions. We implemented a Residential Recovery Program. Moms who enter our program (with their children) must commit to sober living. Programs are geared to recovering moms and their children's needs. Families are transported to off-site specialized counseling appointments, sober living events and celebrations, in addition to in-house counseling and classes in parenting, identifying stressors, and life skills needed to succeed in independent living. Children are the silent victims of drug abuse. Moms often do not seek help because programs do not allow them to bring their children and they fear losing custody. We address this issue by treating recovering moms along with their children in a 24 hour supervised shelter program geared to their needs. Our mission to stop the cycle of child abuse continues.”

“Financial statements have been reviewed by the Board Treasurer, CPA (license inactive). Due to the 2020 COVID situation, the organization's independent review has been postponed until December 7, 2020. If any changes are necessary, an amended return will be filed.”
