Pickaway county community action organization, inc. And its wholly-owned subsidiary have been recognized by the internal revenue service as organizations exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. However, income from certain activities not directly related to picca's tax-exempt purpose is subject to taxation as unrelated business income. Picca's reporting returns are subject to audit by federal and state taxing authorities. No income tax provision has been included in the consolidated financial statements as picca has determined it does not have unrelated business income subject to taxation.
