Creating the Future

“In 2018, creating the future laid groundwork in critical mission areas. For a full description of these accomplishments (in a more readable form) head to - http://creatingthefuture.org/2018-accomplishments/ during our formative years, the founders have chosen to self fund the organization, receiving only small stipends for their more than full time work. This has allowed the organization to focus on program development and proof of concept vs spending all our time raising money. In future years, as the organization scales to accomplish its mission (and must seek funds to do so), full time salaries and additional staff will be added as funds are generated. Additional key employees: rebecca hurd - program manager (19,295) rebecca ran creating the future's immersion and other education programs in 2018. She was a key part in the organization's accomplishments.”

Successes include 12 free ejournals with exercises sent to 4,000 people; immersion education classes (18 participants in classes that are 3 hours/week for 6-8 weeks); developed on-demand classes to make our education more accessible (74 individuals beta tested classes); partnered with nevada department of education to have their staff learn with us.”

Developed a "sharing stories" team to help disseminate what we learn in our demonstration projects.”

Successes include growing and nurturing a community of nonprofit/community benefit consultants and coaches (600 members); nurturing a nascent online community for catalytic thinking practitioners (453 members); partnered with the patterson foundation to facilitate 2 conversations about what catalytic thinking looks like in action (33 consultants, 100 community leaders); 2 month community engagement tour in california (20 meetings with individuals and groups, 1 conference keynote, 2 guest lecturers at uc berkeley, 2 community workshops, 3 salons in people's homes/workplaces).”
