Choose new jersey's external audit firm prepared the form 990 for management to review and then presented it to cnj's audit committee for its review as well; the form 990 was also reviewed by cnj's legal counsel. The audit committee provided a copy of the form 990 to the entire board of directors prior to its filing with the internal revenue service.

Choose new jersey inc.'s executive committee met to review the total compensation package of individuals who they believe would be considered under the "executive compensation disqualified perseons" under the intermediate sanction provisions in the internal revenue code. The committee reviewed various documentation including a compensation study done by a qualified authority. After discussion and review, the committee voted under unanimous consent that the parties under review receive reasonable compensation for their services.

Cnj has no federal income tax returns prior to fiscal period 2011. All filed returns remain open to examination. Cnj has no unrecognized tax benefits at december 31, 2014. Cnj continually evaluates expiring statutes of limitations, audits, proposed settlements, changes in tax law and new authoritative rulings. If applicable, cnj would recognize interest and penalties related to tax matters in interest expense and penalties in operating expenses.
