Form 990, Part III, Line 4D: Other Program Services Description

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: DARBY PROJECT: The Darby Project serves US Army Rangers, active duty and veteran members of the 75th Ranger Regiment, and US Army Ranger School qualified soldiers. These men and women are specially selected and well-trained soldiers. The resilient nature of Rangers results in common failures to seek assistance before a personal or professional issue creates emotional, physical and financial strain. The Darby Project provided 471 services to Rangers and their families in 2019 focused on transition assistance, financial assistance, and substance abuse treatment. This number does not include several hundred active duty Rangers in seminars. In 2019 Darby Project helped the Ranger Regiment improve the Ranger for Life Program, encouraging each Ranger to improve in the "big five": emotional, spiritual, physical, social and professional areas. Darby Project is led by a 75th Ranger Regiment combat veteran. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: WINGS LEVEL: Wings level is a focus on veterans of service in the US Air Force. GallantFew provided 29 services to USAF veterans in 2019. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: DESCENDANTS OF SPARTA: This program features The Spartan Pledge, a powerful anti-suicide campaign. THE VA Sierra Nevada Health Care system sponsored its second Spartan Pledge day in 2019, featuring Boone Cutler, veteran musicians and other activities. GallantFew continues to encourage veterans to use the pledge with their comrades to encourage connection and save lives. The Spartan Pledge was a moving conclusion to VetXpo 2019. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: THE NEW AMERICAN VETERAN (TNAV): GallantFew's podcast continues to reach thousands of veterans, and highlights veterans who have used their military experience to achieve success in their post-military lives. These interviews can be found on all of GallantFew's Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube sites. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 9: WAM PROJECT: In 2018 GallantFew began to formalize a program focused on women veterans, called WAM Project which is short for Women with a Mission. Led by women veterans for women veterans, this program is under development and provided twelve services to women veterans in 2019. There were 86 services. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 10: MEDICINE WHEEL SOCIETY: The American Indian is a unique and underserved population of veterans. GallantFew continues to seek ways to build relationships in this community. Medicine Wheel Society is led by a volunteer American Indian Gold Star father who is also a Marine corps veteran. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 11: VET REC: Short for VETerans RECreation or VETerans in RECovery, VET REC focuses on physically active therapeutic opportunities such as indoor and outdoor rock climbing, cycling, ruck marches and social events. GallantFew continues to expand climbing programs in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas and Wilmington and Raleigh, NC and added one in Columbus, GA. A recent survey of participants reported 66% self confidence improvements, 94% fitness levels improved, 71% other areas in the their life improved. VET REC supports program climbing events, such as the Raider Project Joshua Tree weekend.

IRS990/Desc0VETERAN MENTORING: GallantFew has continued to refine one-on-one mentoring. By using the Azimuth Check Survey (azimuthcheck.org) to establish a baseline for the veteran in five functional areas, we then identify methodologies to improve fitness levels in each of the five areas--physical, social, spiritual, professional and emotional. "The key in this concept is to connect a veteran with a mentor." The mentors are also veterans with similar backgrounds and in the same local area who have successfully transitioned and are willing to share the lessons they have learned and experienced. This connection helps overcome isolation which we believe is the greatest threat to a veteran's successful transition. In addition to overseeing the above programs, GallantFew provided 765 services to veterans not specifically designated to a program. GallantFew also began work on establishing a national resource group for corporations wanting to provide internal support for employee veterans.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0DARBY PROJECT: The Darby Project serves US Army Rangers, active duty and veteran members of the 75th Ranger Regiment, and US Army Ranger School qualified soldiers.
