Mission

Equality and opportunity (e+o) empowers hard-working families to pull themselves out of poverty, by incubating and supporting income-generating and asset-building ventures in the areas of housing (live/work spaces), preventative healthcare and life skills.

Equality and Opportunity (E+O) empowers hard-working families to pull themselves out of poverty, by incubating and supporting income-generating and asset-building social ventures in the areas of housing (live/work spaces), preventative healthcare and life skills. We believe that addressing these needs will minimize the vulnerabilities of low-income families, and give them much- needed stability to improve their lives. IRS990ScheduleA/FactsAndCircumstancesTestTxt0Current Year Facts and Circumstances: Fundraising and Revenue Plan Equality and Opportunity Foundation (E+O) has developed and initiated a refined fundraising and awareness plan designed to expand and diversify the donor base, contributed income funding streams and awareness in our initiatives. As a result we received $26,000 in multi-year pledges in 2019 and we plan to continue growing the public support in 2020/21.The plan includes: - An expansion of the Board of Directors: Ayan Chatterjee, an advisor to E+O, joined our Board of Directors in 2020. A second long-term advisor is expected to join the Board of Directors bringing the total number of directors to five. Both parties have been advising and supporting E+O for over eight years. They are knowledgeable about our initiatives, local partners as well as funding sources. Both members have worked for or with multilateral and bilateral governmental agencies, major family foundations and corporate foundations. -E+O previously had not utilized social media to a great extent for fundraising. We will be launching a GoFundMe campaign during late 2020/early 2021 as well as actively promoting it on social media with a goal of targeting millennials to promote and fund our initiatives and also expand and diversify our donor base. -We improved our donation portal where donors can more easily make one-off and recurring donations and through additional methods on their cell phones with the click of a button using Apple Pay and Google Pay. -During 2020, we reviewed and began optimizing our Google search analytics so that E+O shows up early on searches related to our activities. This review and optimization will be ongoing. - E+O continues to cultivate existing domestic and international philanthropic partnerships and expand funding opportunities with family foundations, corporate foundations and individuals. We will continue to apply for grants particularly in the areas of technology-enabled skill development and health care initiatives.- E+O continues to refine and expand the existing donor list of individuals representing personal and professional network of our Advisors, Board members and volunteers. As a result, we raised approximately an additional $27,000 in public support and will continue to do so.All of the previous demonstrate that E+O is a publicly supported Organization with the goal to materially expand and diversify its donor base and contributed income streams over the next few years. Despite the Executive Directors limited time commitment due to health reasons, in 2019 the public support test increased to 11.80% from 11.04% in 2018.
