Goat rearing (5 households)Small livestock, like goat, sheep and poultry is a critical source of livelihoods for rural poor, especially for women. Small livestock are perceived to have several benefits. They serve as a source of income, as assets which could be used in times of emergency, as source of nutrition (milk and meat), as a source of medicine (milk), and as gifts during ceremonies. Hence, our partner identified 5 vulnerable households in the area and provide them with five goats to start their livelihood. They also provided the households with awareness on vaccination, deworming and first aid treatment of goats.2. Women Entrepreneurship Cosmetics & tailoring (5 women)Individual women enterprises of cosmetics and tailoring was setup by five needy and vulnerable women in the area. Each woman were given support for setting up the shop, procuring inventory and training to run her business.
