(EIS COUNCIL)PARTNERS WITH GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES AND NONGOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATTONS ("NGOS") WORKING TO CONSIDER AND ADDRESS THE RISK(S) POSED TO CRITICAL ELECTRIC INFRASTRUCTURE FROM NATURAL SOURCES, SUCH AS SEVERE REGIONAL EARTHQUAKES, PANDEMICS, SOLAR FLARES (WHICH CAN CAUSE MASSIVE GEOMAGNETIC STORMS), AS WELL AS MAN-MADE SOURCES, SUCH AS LARGE SCALE CYBER ATTACK OR A PHYSICAL ATTACK (E.G ON CRITICAL GRID NODES OR A HIGH ALTITUDE ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE "HEMP"), AND TO STIMULATE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL MULTI-SECTOR COORDINAITION AND COOPERATION IN INFRASTRUCTURE PROTECTION. EIS COUNCIL DEVELOPS AI-ENHANCED MULTI-SECTOR SIMULATION AND COORDINATION TECHNOLOGY FOR SITUATIONAL (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)AWARENESS AND DECISION SUPPORT AS WELL AS SYSTEMS FOR COMMUNICATIONS AND COORDINATION DURING DISASTERS AND COMPLEX CATASTROPHES. KEY ACTIVITIES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021:1. (USA) BLACK SKY EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS AND COORDINATION SYSTEM ("BSX"): EIS SAW THE COMPLETION OF THE BSX BLOCK 1 INSTALLATION AND IMPLEMENTATION AT A LARGE AMERICAN POWER AND ENERGY COMPANY HEADQUARTERED IN THE EAST COAST. THE CONTRACT, SIGNED IN AUGUST 2020, COULD NOT BEGIN UNTIL COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS WERE REMOVED. INSTALLATION BEGAN IN MAY 2021. FINAL DELIVERY TOOK PLACE IN NOVEMBER 2021.2. (USA) BLACK SKY EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION AND COORDINATION SYSTEM ("BSX") BROADBAND IP SOFTWARE DEFINE RADIO ("BNET") BSX-BNET: BSX IS CURRENTLY MOVING INTO ITS PHASE 2 IMPLEMENTATION WITH TECHNICAL TEAMS FROM MANY INDUSTRY LEADERS WHICH WILL EXPAND THE FOOTPRINT THE EAST COAST FOOTPRINT. THE BNET RADIO IS THE WORLD'S FIRST COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE EMP-PROTECTED RADIO FROM RAFAEL AND OFFERS A RESILIENT COMMUNICATIONS SOLUTION FOR WIDE SCALE CATASTROPHES. THE BNET DEMONSTRATION CONNECTED BLACK FIBER LINKS TO ENABLE INDEPENDENT AND RESILIENT EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION CAPABILITY BETWEEN CRITICAL ELECTRICITY NODES IN THE EASTERN GRID. IT SHOWED THE RADIO'S CAPABILITY IN MEETING MODERN DIGITAL RESPONSE NEEDS WITH HIGH-SPEED, LOW DELAY, RELIABLE CONNECTIVITY FOR DATA, VOICE AND VIDEO ON-THE-MOVE. 3. (USA) BROADBAND IP SOFTWARE DEFINE RADIO ("BNET"): BNET 900 MHZ CAME TO FRUITION, BRINGING A NEW CAPABILITY THAT ALLOWS VIDEO, DATA AND VOICE COMMUNICATION. THIS ACTIVITY STARTED AT THE END OF 2020. BY EARLY 2021, EIS HAS CONFIRMED SPECIFICATIONS FOR TESTING AND FOUND A FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION (FCC) CERTIFIED LABORATORY. RAFAEL DEVELOPED AND VERIFIED THE ADDITIONAL HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE MODIFICATIONS AND EIS CONTINUED TESTING COORDINATION WITH THE LABORATORY. 4. USA (GLOBAL) EARTH EX: CONDUCTED THE 5TH EMERGENCY ALL-SECTOR RESPONSE TO TRANSNATIONAL HAZARDS EXERCISE (EARTHEX), FROM SEPTEMBER 1 - OCTOBER 31, 2021. THIS IS A TRULY GLOBAL EFFORT, DRAWING FROM THE HEADLINES OF CLIMATE-FUELED DISASTERS OF FIRES AND FLOODS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. 5. (GLOBAL) DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION: EIS CONDUCTED A STRATEGIC REVIEW TO VIGOROUSLY MOVE THE ORGANIZATION INTO THE DIGITAL WORD BY:A. RENEWING THE EIS WEBSITE; ENGAGING AND ENHANCING SOCIAL MEDIA RELATIONSHIPS IN YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND LINKEDIN; REFRESHING THE COMMUNITY OF MEMBERS AND INCREASING THE NUMBERS FROM 40 TO 140B. IMPLEMENTING A SALESFORCE CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (CRM) AND A MARKETING TOOLC. DILIGENTLY FOLLOWED UP WITH NEW CONTACTS. ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIPS WITH COVENTRY UNIVERSITY, MITRE, URBAN AIRPORT (UK).D. ESTABLISHED A NEW "LOOK AND FEEL" FOR EIS MESSAGES AND ARTICLES.6. (GLOBAL) GLOBAL RESILIENCE COMMISSION (GRCOM): GRCOM IS A VIRTUAL DISCUSSION FORUM FOCUSING ON CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE RESILIENCE TOPICS. IN EFFECT, GRCOM HAS BEEN A VIRTUAL VERSION OF EIS'S PREVIOUS IN-PERSON EIS SUMMITS. GRCOM DREW FROM EXPERTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO DISCUSS INFRASTRUCTURE RESILIENCE TOPICS. GRCOM ENHANCED THE NUMBER OF REGISTRANTS AND PARTICIPANTS IN WEBINARS BY A FACTOR OF 3 TO 5. |
