“Throughout 2023, gpf shifted programming to reflect the post-pandemic environment by hosting more in-person events, programs and convenings, producing hybrid online / in-person programming, while still continuing to offer a robust line-up of virtual events and expand our digital library of free peacebuilding content. Overall, we strategically aimed towards re-engaging individuals in person, offering fewer massive online events. 2023 global peace convention was a signature bi-annual international convening of the global peace foundation. Interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions with international experts, scholars, and field professionals addressed key issue areas, including freedom of conscience and religion, peace and security, women's leadership and peacebuilding, community-driven peacebuilding, transforming education, youth volunteerism and service learning, and environmental conservation. The convention also featured an awards gala to confer the global peace awards to honor leaders in peacebuilding from government, civil society and faith traditions. For the first time, the convention was convened in a hybrid approach, offering in-person event in seoul and virtual events over the course of a month. On-demand sessions from each track and plenary sessions were made available on our website video library. The global peace leadership conference indo- pacific 2023, "vasudhaiva kutumbakam: vision for advancing human consciousness and peace" hosted more than one thousand peace advocates both virtually and in-person in new delhi with various tracks in education, peacebuilding, youth leadership development and northeast asia peace and security and other topics. Global peace foundation and its partners launched a new initiative, the global peace leadership corps, as an international, cross cultural peacebuilding and service program. This new initiative is a youth leadership development effort to cultivate a new generation of young leaders in global citizenship and peacebuilding. Global peace foundation's grantmaking supported a variety of programming addressing the most critical issues in communities around the world. Overall, our field network engaged over 100,000 people in in-person programs, over 1 million in hybrid events, over 2200 speakers, more than 5500 volunteers, and more than 800 partner organizations.”
