Gpf focuses its efforts in three areas: interfaith cooperation, family strengthening, and a culture of service.

Multi Grammy-award winning producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and two-time Grammy-award winning singer Peabo Bryson joined participants to lend their support for unification through the powerful medium of music and the arts.More than 100 Women leaders from Korea, Japan and the Philippines convened in Seoul for the Global Peace Women Leadership Exchange, which addressed the ongoing division on the Korean peninsula while highlighting the contribution of women's leadership in peacebuilding.GPF Japan Chapter: In October, GPF Japan joined with partners to host over 1,500 people at the Multicultural One Family Festival 2016 in Tokyo. The Festival featured panel discussions on Japan's growing diversity and included exhibitions and performances highlighting different national cultures, traditions and popular entertainments. GPF Mongolia Chapter: In October, GPF Japan joined with partners to host over 1,500 people at the Multicultural One Family Festival 2016 in Tokyo. The Festival featured panel discussions on Japan's growing diversity and included exhibitions and performances highlighting different national cultures, traditions and popular entertainments.GPF Mongolia continued its "Model Village" project in Darkhan-uul province to help local citizens become active participants in their community's development. This year, GPF-Mongolia worked with a committee of 20 local residents to build a footbridge across a ravine to open up access to businesses and residents on both sides.

Five former Central American presidents and Latin American Presidential Mission representatives held meetings at the Organization of American States, on Capitol Hill and at the International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. to examine an integrated regional approach to tackle organized crime, drug trafficking, and rising income inequalityIn October, GPG USA co-hosted a forum in Washington, DC entitled "Painful Hope: Understanding, Transformation, and Non-violence." The forum brought together a Palestinian peace activist and Jewish Rabbi and settler to highlight important grassroots initiatives in Israel and Palestine that are working to build trust and engagement between the separated communitiesIn July, GPF US, in partnership with Co-Operation Ireland and the Administration for Children and Families, launched the Cross Community Engagement pilot program in Jersey City, NJ, which is a violence-prevention and youth leadership development program.GPF USA's Safe Haven Campaign conducted 11 programs in churches and organizations, including a major training session at the University of Maryland with 150 students. In February, 10,000 youth leaders, students, and young professionals from around the world gathered in Manila, Philippines for the fourth Global Youth Summit, under the theme "One World." The one-day summit aimed to challenge, inspire and educate the world's future experts and encourage them to join together as "one youth" to create a more peaceful world that values the differences that exist within the human family.In October, 297, administrators and experts attended the first Character and Creativity Initiative (CCI) summit in the Philippines, "Transforming School Culture by Educating the Total Child. Organized by GPF Philippines and the Department of Education, the summit discussed public, private, and social partnerships to achieve a deeper impact in solving today's complex problems in education.GPF Philippines continued to be a provider of the Philippines Department of Education Alternative Learning System (ALS) through its program, GlobALS, which aims to improve employability after graduation through livelihood skills training and implementation of new education technology. GPF Malaysia chapter: GPF Malaysia worked with educators and administrators in three secondary schools to implement the Character and Creativity Initiative in order to transform schools' approach to education and focus on developing character and creativity competencies in students. GPF Malaysia implemented a series of holistic empowerment programs for at-risk youth in collaboration with local public schools. The workshops, entitled "Inside-Out Workshops," are designed to address the concerns and needs of at-risk students, helping them understand their emotions, personality, strengths and weaknesses and set life goals.GPF Malaysia partnered with Laneige Malaysia to provide residents of remote villages with clean water through the "Waterful Sharing Campaign." The campaign raised funds for improved, easy-to-maintain filtration systems that remove microbial contaminants that cause dysentery and cholera, replacing previous manual filtration systems.GPF Indonesia chapter: In March, GPF Indonesia hosted 700 participants at the "Global Peace Youth Interfaith Assembly" under the theme "Raising Moral and Innovative Young Leaders: the Key to Lasting Peace." The Assembly aimed to inspire youth to become future ethical leaders in government, the private sector, faith communities and homes and neighborhoodsGPF Indonesia concluded its 30th Global Peace Volunteers camp in October in West Java, Indonesia. 24 select young leaders participated in the unique three-day program that provides hands-on leadership training. The rigorous program seeks to equip participants not only with leadership skills such as public speaking, program organization, resource development and management, but also character competencies such as confidence, relationship building, conflict resolution and practical applications of values.In December, GPF Indonesia organized an education forum, attended by hundreds of teachers, administrators, technology experts and government education ministers.
