The global peace foundation (gpf) works internationally to promote sustainable peace, social cohesion, and compassionate development at all levels of society, guided by the vision of one family under god. Gpf focuses its efforts in three areas: interfaith cooperation, family strengthening, and a culture of service.

GPF's innovative work includes youth empowerment and leadership development, education and entrepreneurship, grassroots peacebuilding, and volunteer service programming.

GPF held the first "One Dream One Korea" event in the US and Korea to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Korean independence and advocate for Korean Unification. GPF launched the First Amendment Voice campaign to actively promote civic education and compassionate dialogue amongst diverse audiences, particularly as related to First Amendment freedoms. GPF established a Tanzania chapter to strengthen efforts to advance sustainable peace and development in East Africa.

IRS990/Desc0GPF Northeast AsiaGPF Korea Chapter: In October, GPF Korea in partnership with the Korean government ministries and civil society organizations hosted a series of forums in Seoul, including "Role of Civil Society and Global Cooperation in Furthering a Unified Korea:, The Role of the Republic of Korea in Sustainable Development", and "Economic Implications of North-South Korea Unification. The forums and public events were held to mark the seventieth anniversary of the liberation of Korea from Japanese occupation, and simultaneous division of the peninsula at the 38th parallel at the conclusion of the World War II. Scholars, researchers, civil society leaders and the Korean government ministers participating at the forums urged greater consensus and collaboration in advancing a process of peaceful; unification of the Korean peninsula.In 2015, GPF joined with diverse partners to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Korea and its subsequent division, and to further advance efforts to build citizen engagement and support for unification. GPF Korea joined as leading partner with over 1,000 civil society organizations in a campaign to inform, inspire, and engage Korean youth for national unification through music and culture, It featured a new unification song culminating inn a music video performed by top K-pop artists and a nationally broadcasted One Dream One Korea concert held at Seoul's World Cup Stadium. GPF Japan Chapter: In August, GPF Japan joined with partners to host the first Multicultural One Family Festival in Tokyo to promote shared values that tie together native Japanese and international communities. International communities from Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Philippines, China, Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Uzbekistan, Turkey and many others joined to celebrate diversity and inclusiveness. GPF Mongolia Chapter: In July, GPF mobilized volunteers to water over 8,000 trees in Erdene soum, Tub province, in order to tackle the growing desertification problem in Mongolia.

GPF USA Chapter: In August, 1,200 young professionals, entrepreneurs, social activists, and student leaders representing more than 109 countries participated in the 8th International Young Leaders Assembly in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and New York. The program was co-sponsored by 12 UN Permanent Missions and 10 Embassies. In March, April and July, forums were held in conjunction with Georgetown University and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), exploring new approaches to Korean Unification. The forum series is examining multilateral contributions to Korean-led unification initiatives predicated on principles and historic values in Korean culture. In June, GPC USA co-hosted a forum in Washington, DC entitled "Faith Leaders Resolving Global Conflicts. The forum emphasized the power of forgiveness in resolving conflicts and how to better address global issues such as poverty, climate change, and racism. In June, GPF US, in partnership with Co-Operation Ireland and the Administration for Children and Families, trained facilitators to lead small group activities with you, as a part of the Cross Community Engagement program in Jersey City, NJ, which is a violence prevention and youth leadership development program.GPF USA convened eight exploratory meetings in six regions of the United States related to the launching of the First Amendment Voice campaign. These meetings culminated in two summits and one high-level roundtable discussion. actively promoting civic education and compassionate dialogue amongst diverse audiences, particularly as related to First Amendment freedoms.GPF Brazil chapter: A Global Peace Leadership Conference was held at the University of Brasilia in November. Five former Latin American heads of state assessed the quality and development of democracy in Latin America and led discussions on civic education and youth engagement. The theme of the conference was "Brazil: Towards National Transformation: Development and Integrity through Moral and Innovative Leadership."GPF Paraguay Chapter: In April, Global Peace Women Paraguay honored nine women for their leadership in education and social service. The Awards Ceremony was hosted in Asunci n where four hundred and fifty people including parliamentarians, ministers and other government officials gathered in Paraguay's National Congress for this 7th annual event. The ceremony raises awareness of individual lives of service and encourages others to develop and utilize their abilities to foster a more peaceful and prosperous society. Seventy women leaders gathered in the GPF Paraguay headquarters in Asunci n for the forum "Public Policies for Women: Progress and Challenges" in March. The forum addressed many critical concerns for women, who only recently gained substantial legal rights from constitutional reforms in the 1990s, and continue to fight for greater social equality. A GPF Paraguay hosted a Young Entrepreneurship Conference at National Congress of Paraguay in May. The event addressed GPF's social and cultural programs that contribute to improving the living conditions of people in Paraguay. GPF Uruguay: In July, Global Peace Women Uruguay celebrated the launch of their new book, From the Heart of Women. Seven women scholars contributed to the book, which develops the guiding principles of the organization, including the

In June, the Initiative for Transforming Education was formally launched in Nairobi, Kenya in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and other stakeholders to address emerging issues in education including relevance of technology and innovation in education. GPF Kenya secured partnerships with Airtel, UN Habitat, Intel, Oracle, and Chandaria Foundation to introduce GPF's Leadership and Entrepreneurship program, Leap Hubs, in 24 public secondary schools. In December, GPF Kenya in partnership with the county government of Mombasa and the Interreligious Council of Kenya held an Interfaith Youth 'Boot Camp" to underscore the importance of diversity, provide hands-on youth leadership development experiences, and to counter the threat of radicalization.GPF Nigeria Chapter: In September, GPF Nigeria hosted a program event "Partnership for Peace - Dignity for All: We are One Family under God" to commemorate the United Nation's International Day of Peace. More than 200 Muslim and Christian clerics joined government and civil society leaders in Kaduna State for the event. GPF Nigeria continues "One Family under God" Campaign taps the moral authority of Christian, Muslim, women and youth leaders and traditional rulers to counter extremist violence and identity-based conflict. GPF Uganda Chapter: In September, Global Peace Youth Uganda organized a social entrepreneurship workshop at Uganda Christian University in Kampala to equip young people with entrepreneurial skills needed for sustainable livelihoods and contribute to their communities. The workshop was part of Global Peace Youth's U-GEN project which hosts events and programs for a global network of young leaders who are committed to achieving social change and sustainable development. GPF Tanzania Chapter: In September, GPF opened new offices in Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to strengthen its peacebuilding and development portfolio in the East Africa Community. In October, GPF's newest chapter in Tanzania worked with partners to launch "Amani Kwanza Campaign" to promote peaceful general elections in the country.

GPF Malaysia chapter: GPF Malaysia brought together education stakeholders at a forum at the University of Malay in September. The forum focused on understanding the growing challenge of unemployment of recent graduates and the need match employer's most-wanted skill sets with secondary education, in an effort to reduce youth unemployment.GPF Malaysia established a new project, HOME. In July, Global Peace Volunteers went to Gopeng for a cultural exchange and to provide a water filtration system to the rural community. GPF Indonesia chapter: Global Peace Education expanded its signature Character and Creativity Initiative and Leap Hubs programs in Indonesia. In partnership with Ministry of Education and other major stakeholders, Global Peace Education works to transform education in order to match employer's most-wanted skill sets with secondary school education, as an approach to reduce youth unemployment.GPF Nepal chapter: In the aftermath of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal in April, GPF joined with Asia-Pacific Peace and Development Service Alliance to coordinate volunteer efforts, dubbed "Rise Nepal." GPF helped support over 3,000 families, including the constructing over 600 transitional "Shelters of Hope." IBM was a corporate partner in these efforts.GPF Nepal joined with the Department of Water Supply and Sewage to establish the Kholtari Drinking Supply and Sanitation Project. The projects aims to provide clean water for over 1,400 people in the Bharat Pokhari community and to create a common space for continued community development and support of more resilient communities and self-reliant families. GPF Nepal continued it's "Rivers of Peace Campaign" through the "Bagmati River Peace Initiative." This initiative engages local schools, youth and civic groups through public awareness programs, capacity building and education workshops and regular cleanups service projects. GPF India chapter: In December, GPF India organized a roundtable discussion, "A Global Ethical Framework: Vision of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - One Family under God" in New Delhi, India. The program sought to draw upon India's rich and ancient spiritual heritage and examine the value and relevance of spiritual principles from various societal aspects such as education, economy and philosophy. GPF Southeast Asia: In May, GPF Philippines hosted a Global Peace Volunteers Summer Camp, which brought together aspiring young leaders from Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines to experience cultural exchange, volunteerism and character development. Participants included university students, community leaders and young professionals were led through a series of character and team-building activities that helped equip them with the skills and vision necessary to inspire positive changeGPF Cambodia: GPF's model community-based development project, All Lights Village, was expanded to Cambodia. All-Lights Village is a comprehensive, community-based model that emphasizes education, entrepreneurship, and family-based enterprise as the basis for development. In March leaders representing GPF and partner organizations visited the Cambodian village of Kampong Speu to deliver solar powered lamps and street lights as well as introduce basic medical services.GPF Cambodia partnered with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to launch a one-year basic English language instruction program for primary school students. The program was piloted in the Meanchey District in Phnom Pehn, the capital city of Cambodia, targeting limited-resource primary schools.
